Charles Wayne "Charlie" Jones was born February 27, 1946 in Granite, Oklahoma to Oletha (Means) and Charles Jurden Jones. He passed away September 27, 2018 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years and 7 months.
 

Charlie grew up in Granite where he graduated from high school. He entered the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam war from 1964 to 1968. After his discharge he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1969 and served until 1987 as a patrolman and pilot. During his time in the Patrol, Charlie went to Southwestern and Northwestern State Colleges where he graduated with a number of degrees and finished his Masters in Psychology in 1991. He was married to Teresa Yvonne Brooks on July 20, 2004 and they made Sayre, Oklahoma their home.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Granite and currently a member of the Link Church. He was an accomplished guitar player and singer.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters; Claudia, Faye and Sharon.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa and 6 children; Kimberly Giles and husband, Melvin, Melissa Jones and husband, Peter, Jeremy Jones and wife, Jennifer, Joshua Jones, Matthew Brooks and Billy Foreman and wife, Denise, 1 sister, Wanda Snow Matheny, step father, J. C. Gifford, 8 grandchildren, Dakota, Denver, Raven, Ireland, Ralston, Garison, Addison, and Aaron.
