Alice (Matthews) Hylton was born December 19, 1929 in Orange County, Virginia to Edith (Dofflemoyer) and Henry Chiles Matthews She passed away May 18, 2018 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 29 days.
 

Alice grew up in Orange County, Virginia where she attended school. She graduated high school in 1947 and later met and was married to Guy Ryland Hylton Sr. on May 22, 1948. After their marriage they moved to Maryland where Guy went to work as a carpenter and Alice was employed at the Pentagon where she was a secretary to a general. It was during this time that they began their family with the birth of Faye Marie in 1949. They later added Guy Ryland, Jr. in 1952, Mark Alan in 1957 and Barry Page in 1958. Together they made their home in Brandywine, Maryland until the death of Guy, Sr. in 2006 when she moved to Elk City. Alice enjoyed painting, cooking, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
 

She is survived by her children, Faye Shaffer and husband, Sanford, Raleigh, NC, Guy, Jr. and wife, Suzanne, Sayre, OK, Mark and wife, Nancy, Elk City, OK and Barry and wife, Judi, Mechanicsville, MD; 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Anita, Penny, Jay, Josh, Rocky, Alyssia, Candice, Lauren and Brooke; 14 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Janie Matthews and Ona Bradbury, a brother-in-law, Johnny Baker and a host of other relatives and friends.
