Margie Loyce Gilbert was born on February 20, 1940 in Iraan, TX to Ernest and Rheba (Snow) McMillan. She passed away on February 16, 2021 in Elk City, OK at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 27 days.


Margie grew up in Iraan, Texas where she graduated from high school. She married Ronnie Sears and worked in a local restaurant for a short time before moving to Odessa, TX where she worked in a restaurant there as well. That's where she met and later married Billy Gilbert on August 8, 1965. They made their home in Odessa and moved to Elk City, Oklahoma in the late 70's. Margie liked to play cards, go fishing, and loved to entertain. She volunteered her time with a ladies' association. Billy and Margie enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. Margie always had a smile that lit up the room.


She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and an infant daughter, Evelyn Beth Sears.


She is survived be her children, Shane Gilbert, Cheyenne, OK, Billy Gilbert and wife, Dustie, Elk City, OK, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Rose Ridgeway, San Angelo, TX and Jackie Marker, Odessa, TX, and a host of other relatives and friends. 
 

Services will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Whinery Chapel.

Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City.
