Funeral services for Bob Spillers were held Monday April 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the Prairie View Baptist Church of Elk City with Pastor Kendall Hamilton officiating. Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City, Oklahoma.

Bob Spillers was born September 16, 1939 to Vernon R. Spillers and Mable Grace Howell in Redfield, Iowa and passed away Friday April 17, 2004 at the age of 64. Bob attended school in Earlham, Iowa and served his country in the 82nd Airbourne during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Amarillo, Texas and worked as a horse shoe'r. He met Chiquita Beaty in Amarillo and they were married in Cheyenne, Oklahoma in 1963. They moved to Cheyenne in 1964 and then to Elk City in 1965 where they have lived since. Bob trained horses and did horse shoeing up until 1975 when he started Spillers Dozer and operated heavy equipment until 1986. After that Bob continued working with horses and trading farm equipment.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife Chiquita of the Elk City home; 3 daughters Kimberly Dawn Spillers of Elk City, Sheri Spillers of Dumas, Texas and Bobbi Yarbrough and her husband Yandi of Childress, Texas; 3 brothers Vernon C. Spillers of Adel, Iowa, Charles W. Spillers and his wife Lou of Amarillo, Texas and Press Spillers of Elk City, Oklahoma and 1 sister Virginia Lenocker of Dexter, Iowa, and 4 granddaughters Keist Lord of Elk City, Harley Smith of Elk City, Yaleigh Yarbrough and Y'Leigh Yarbrough of Childress, Texas.
