Funeral services for Erman C. Bailey, former Hammon resident, who died Thursday morning April 10, 1973 at Hensley Nursing Home at Sayre, were conducted from the Martin Funeral Home chapel Friday, April 13, 1973 at 2:30 p.m. with Albert Trent of Mangum, and W. R. Craig of the Second and Adams Street Church of Christ officiating.

Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma.

Mr. Bailey was born October 10, 1892 in Panola County, Texas. He was 80.

He came to western Oklahoma while it was still known as Indian Territory with his parents and they settled on a farm in Custer county, northeast of Hammon, Oklahoma, where he had lived until some 10 years ago when he moved to his present home.

He became a Christian at an early age and became a member of the Church of Christ and was presently a member of the Second and Adams Streets, Church of Christ.

He was married to the former Mamie Flynt at Hammon April 18, 1913. She survives him.

Other survivors include three sons, Preston E. Bailey of Pampa, Texas; Franklin D. Bailey of Darrouzett, Texas; and Edward Bailey of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Darnell of Pampa; and Mrs. LaVada "Happy" Moore of Coos Bay, Oregon; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Neta Howard of Durango, Colorado; and Mrs. Clara Chadwick of Henderson, Texas; two brothers, W. C. Bailey of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; and Ocie Bailey of Strong City, Oklahoma.
