Juanita (Turner) Wilcox

Juanita Turner Wilcox was born March 29, 1933 and passed away on February 7, 2014.

She grew up in the Warren community in southwest Oklahoma where she attended school. She was married to Howard Wayne Wilcox at Altus, Oklahoma on April 15, 1950 and they lived in Berlin, Oklahoma before moving to Erick, Oklahoma in 1956 to make their home. She enjoyed the simple things in life and often wrote her thoughts and life experiences on paper to share with her family and friends. Her poems, stories and letters are a priceless treasure for her family. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lamond and Lendel Turner.

She was a faithful member of Erick First Baptist Church for nearly 57 years and was always in attendance until her health started to fail and she moved into assisted living. She faithfully read her Bible every day and loved memorizing special scriptures.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Wayne Wilcox, two sons, Danny Wilcox and wife Shirley and Brad Wilcox and wife Carla. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Southerland and brother Herbert Turner and wife Jeanette. She has 5 grandchildren, David Wilcox, Becky Kilgore, Jackie Smith, Joe Ray Shelton and Jeff Shelton as well as a host of great grandchildren.
