Don Smith, 83, of Hart, Texas passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 in Hart.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:00AM in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Gene Meacham officiating. Local arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will also be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 1:00PM in the First Baptist Church of Erick, Oklahoma with Pastor Charlie Floyd officiating with burial to follow in Erick Cemetery under the care of Whinery Funeral Service of Erick, Oklahoma.
 

Don Smith was born on March 10, 1935 in Erick, Oklahoma to Jesse Ellis Smith and Prebble (Holland) Smith. Don married Roberta (Barfield) Smith on May 31, 1953. Don and Roberta moved to Hart, Texas in 2008 from Branson, Missouri. Together they served as missionaries for many years beginning when they were in their 20's. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Don enjoyed working and raising beef master cattle and watching OU football. Don was the last surviving grandchild and was very proud to know that his grandfather fought in the civil war. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

Don is survived by his spouse, Roberta Smith of Hart, children, Jerry Don Smith of Hart, Robert Lee Smith and wife Becky of Abilene, Sandra Hilgendorf and husband Paul of Colorado and Donald Lee Smith II of Hart, 5 grandchildren, Robyn, Curtis, Kevin, Jennifer and Sara, 2 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Don is preceded in death by his parents along with 2 brothers, Harold Smith and Charles Wayne Smith.
