Dr. Micheal Edmond Sanders was born November 17, 1951 in
Erick, Oklahoma to Clarence Edmond and Taney Mae (Boyd) Sanders. He passed
away March 5, 2015 at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 18 days.
Micheal by faith trusted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized on November
28, 1961. He graduated from Erick High School and attended Panhandle State
University in Goodwell, Oklahoma for 2 years where he played football. He
received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Doctorate
of Veterinary Medicine in 1979 from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater,
Oklahoma. Micheal established an equine practice in the San Francisco Bay
area for several years. He was married to Sue Zanne (McCoun) Sanders at
Lancaster, California on July 27, 2000 and they made their home in Palmdale,
California where he continued his Veterinary practice. Micheal's passion was
treating and caring for performance horses and he was a member of the
American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of
Equine Practitioners.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Clara Mae Patten, and
a nephew, Tony Bratcher.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home; 3 children, Krista Sanders of
Eureka, California, Katrina Vercoe of Eureka, California, Micheal Tyson
Sanders of Half Moon Bay, California, Andrea Stone of Ft. Worth, Texas and
Shelly Stone of Weatherford, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters and a
brother, Virginia LeGrand and husband, Tommy of Sweetwater, Oklahoma,
Beverly Gillum and husband, David, of Erick, Oklahoma, Charles Sanders and
wife, Donna, of Erick, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephew, other
relatives and many friends.
