Phyllis Beth Freeman Holmberg was born July 7, 1943 in Erick, Oklahoma to Barney and Eulene (Turner) Freeman. She passed away suddenly, July 16, 2018 at her home in Tulare, California at the age of 75.

Phyllis grew up in Erick and graduated from Erick High School in 1961. She then continued her education at Oklahoma College for Women (now USAO) in Chickasha, Oklahoma graduating in 1964 with a degree in Music Education. She was married to Charles Holmberg on December 27, 1964 in Erick, Oklahoma and they were parents to three children: Eric, Grant and Lesley. Phyllis was a member of Valley Christian Church in Tulare, California for many years where she served as piano accompanist. She had the gift and love of music from a young age and became a highly skilled and accomplished pianist. Phyllis shared her gift with others for most of her life through her own playing, accompanying and teaching private lessons in her home. She was the staff piano accompanist for LaJoya Middle School and Visalia Charter Independent Study in Visalia, California up until the time of her passing. Phyllis was a cherished mother, grandmother and sister and a devoted friend to many in Tulare and her native Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her sons: Eric Holmberg and wife, Amanda of Midwest City, OK; Grant Holmberg and wife, Norma of Oklahoma City, OK; and her daughter Lesley Holmberg of Tulare, CA; four grandchildren: Jake and Remy Holmberg and Cole and Mazalyn Ussery; two brothers, Phil Freeman and wife Renae of Panhandle, TX; Steve Freeman and wife, Ann of Elk City, OK.
