Sybil Fern Francis

Sybil Fern Francis was born April 25, 1912 in Erick, Oklahoma to Netti Belle and James Edward Wilson. She passed away July 19, 2014 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 102 years, 2 months and 24 days.
 
Sybil was a lifelong resident of the Erick community, except for a nine year period when she lived in Sayre, Oklahoma and a eight year period when she lived in the Spearman, Texas community. She attended and graduated from the Erick school system. Sybil was married to Earl Lee Francis on September 20, 1930 in Texola, Oklahoma. They lived in Sayre while Earl was county sheriff, and in the spearman, Texas community for eight years where they farmed. They moved back to Erick in 1955. Sybil was a member of the Erick First Baptist Church.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother Alvis O. Wilson and 1 daughter Kara Neil Francis-Castner.
 
She is survived by her 2 sons, Joe C. Francis and wife, Karen, Erick, OK, and Jack T. Francis, Bedford, TX; 1 son-in-law, Marvin Costner, Guymon, OK; 4 grandchildren, Sherri Johnson, Texoma, OK, Debbie Mikles, Turpin, OK, Dexter Francis, Granbury, TX and Anville Francis, Edmond, OK; 11 great grandchildren, Erik Mikles, Amy Mikles, Colby Johnson, Charissa Johnson, Colten Francis, Westley Francis, Dylan Francis, Ashton Francis, Trace Francis, Westin Francis, Wyatt Francis and Zane Francis as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
 
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 at 10:00 am at Erick Cemetery officiated by Bro. Charlie Floyd. Burial will be at Erick Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
