Buster Joe Francis

Buster Joe Francis was born March 9, 1939 in Parker, Arizona to Richard and Mattie (Haynes) Francis. He passed away on September 16, 2018 in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 79 years, 6 months, 7 days.

Buster was raised in the Shamrock, Texas area and graduated from Samnorwood High School. He moved to Oregon where he worked for the forestry service and married Barbara Winterbottom on November 4, 1961. He moved back to the Shamrock, Texas area where he later married Ardalia Kilpatrick on August 1, 1969. They moved to the Lubbock, Texas area in 1970 where he was employed for many years by Knox, Gailey, and Meador Construction Company. He moved back to Erick, Oklahoma where he worked for Joe D. Hall Construction of Elk City, Oklahoma until his retirement. Buster loved to hunt, fish, work with wood, and garden. He had an amazing rose garden at his home in Erick. For several years he spent many hours in the winter cracking and shelling pecans that he gave to his family and others. Buster was a member of the First Baptist Church in Texola, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardalia, his parents, and three brothers. Ed, James and R.C. Francis.

He is survived by four children, Treska Francis, Aurora, CO, Terry Francis and fiance', Cynthia Wilwant Rhodes, Lafayette, CO, Sandra Downs and husband, Jim, Clinton, OK, and Ed Kilpatrick and wife, Shelley, Russell, KS; 12 grandchildren, Brandon Francis, Denver, CO, Madyson Francis-Richardson, Aurora, CO, Collin Francis, Tega Cay, SC, Bradyn Francis, Tega Cay, SC, Kenny Downs and wife, D'Fawn, Clinton, OK, Todd Downs and wife, Stephanie, Burns Flat, OK, Briana Renich and husband, Dan, Wichita, KS, Craig Kilpatrick and wife, Amber, Bartlesville, OK, Carl Kilpatrick, Wichita, KS, Brian Harper and wife, Lori, Bloomington, MN, Melissa Howell and husband, Andrew, Dupo, IL, Erick Harper and wife, Kara, Twentynine Palms, CA; 15 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margireen Childress, Shamrock, TX,and Sue Bench and husband, Olen, Pampa, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
