Anna Florine Floyd

Anna Florine Floyd was born October 18, 1918 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Anna Lucy and John Hamilton Barnes. She passed away September 17, 2014 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Florine grew up in the Delhi community and started school at North Elm and completed the 11th grade at Delhi. After leaving school she was married to Dudley William Floyd at Sayre, Oklahoma on January 19, 1938. Florine and Dudley made their home in western Oklahoma and the eastern side of the Texas panhandle. She spent her life as a homemaker taking care of her family and providing for them. In 1962, they moved to Erick to make their home. After Dudley passed away in May of 1987, Florine continued to make her home in the Erick until 2004 when her health forced her to the nursing home. She enjoyed canning, cooking for family and friends and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Ronald Floyd, 2 grandchildren, 6 sisters and 1 brother.

She is survived by her 4 sons, David Floyd, Erick, OK, John Floyd and wife Ilene, Canadian, TX, Charlie Floyd and wife, Alyce, Erick, OK and T.L. Floyd, Lipscomb, TX; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 sister, Betty Jo Quillen, Little Rock, AR and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Erick First Baptist Church officiated by Brother Charlie Floyd and Pastor Lance Whaley. Burial will be in the Erick Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
