Ola Mae (Barker) Coop

Ola Mae Coop was born March 11, 1922 in Meridian, Oklahoma to Ida Mae and Jess Washington Barker. She passed away January 12, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 1 day. 
 
Ola Mae moved with parents, at a young age, to Erick, Oklahoma where she attended schools. After graduation in 1940, she was married to Junius Jeffery "J.J." Coop at Erick, Oklahoma on August 5, 1940. Ola Mae and J.J. moved to California for a couple years before returning to Erick in 1944 where they made their home. Ola Mae began working as a secretary for an insurance company before beginning with First National Bank where she started as a clerk and worked her way up to vice president. Upon J.J. passing in 1988 Ola Mae remained with the bank a few years until she started with the state of Oklahoma working at the information center off of I-40. Ola Mae enjoyed working in her yard, walking and playing bridge with her bridge club. She was also a member of the Erick First Baptist Church.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Elvis, Rayford and Lloyd Barker; 4 half sisters, Gladys, Kate, Irene and Ora.
 
She is survived by her her son, Tom Coop and wife, Mickie, Sentinel, OK; 2 granddaughters, Tracy Oliver, Sentinel, OK and Lisa Patterson and husband, Bobby, Yukon, OK; 4 great grandchildren, Maranda Frank, Gunar Frank, Autumn Oliver and Denver Patterson; 1 great great grandson, Briggs Frank; 1 great great grandson on the way, Carston Fry; 1 sister-in-law, Joy Barker, Dimmitt, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
