Clarence Dean Reeder

Clarence Dean Reeder was born March 18, 1935 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Thelma and Clarence A. Reeder. He passed away October 26, 2014 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 8 days.

Clarence lived in Clinton until 1951 when his family moved to Sayre. He graduated from Sayre High School in 1953 and continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was married to Sue Gurley on June 11, 1954 at Sayre, Oklahoma. They moved to Goodwell, Oklahoma where Clarence attended Panhandle State University and received his Bachelor's Degree. He taught Math and Science at the Goodwell School System for a short time before moving to Hugo, Oklahoma in 1959. He taught Vocational Carpentry at Hugo High School before starting his own business in 1966, Reeder Construction. In 1976, he and his family moved to Wyoming and lived in Laramie and Gillette before returning to Sayre in 1980 to make their home. Sue passed away in March of 2009. Clarence later married Pat Arganbright at their home in Sayre on July 28, 2012. Clarence loved working with wood and could construct anything from furniture to entire buildings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, living the "cowboy life” and working with horses and cattle. He also liked traveling, reading, playing cards and watching old western movies. Most of all, Clarence was a family man at heart and loved spending time with all of his family and friends. 

In addition to his wife, Sue, he was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Merle, and 2 sisters, Lena Mae Reeder and Floralene Harris. 

He is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; 4 children, Tralawney Reeder, Inglewood, CA, Kevin Reeder and wife, Kathy, Stillwater, OK, Kelly Estus and husband, Rick, Neosho, MO and Troyce Reeder and wife, Edna, "Tiny", Ocean Springs, MS; 2 stepsons, Billy Arganbright and wife Rosanna, Sayre, OK and Ronnie Arganbright and wife, Terri, Sayre, OK; 11 grandchildren, Sky Reeder, Cha' Hutchison, Derin Lauch, Brandon Reeder, Justin Estus, Karley Koch, Ryan Estus, Brandt Arganbright, Chris Arganbright, Derek Arganbright and Robin Lakey; 2 great grandchildren, Lawson and Landry Lakey; a brother, L. D. Reeder, Guthrie, OK; a brother-in-law, Kermit Gurley and wife, Shirley, Sayre, OK and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Services will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the Sayre United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Marvin Stuckey. Burial will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
