Robert Moorhead, Sr.

Robert Moorhead, Sr. was born July 15, 1941 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Omega and Paul Vernon Moorhead. He passed away May 5, 2014 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 20 days.

As a child Robert moved with his family to California and he grew up in the Linda Vista community. He was married to Frances McGathy at San Diego, California on December 31, 1963. They moved to Anchorage, Alaska and remained there for several years before returning to California. They later moved
to Oklahoma in 1967 and stayed for a short time before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. After his retirement, they returned to Oklahoma and made their home in Elk City. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who had never met a better man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Edward Ralph Moorhead.

He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; 3 children, Betty Elizabeth Sanchez and David Sanchez, Elk City, OK, Robert Leon Moorhead, Jr and wife, Beth, Cincinnati, OH, Troy Anthony Moorhead and wife, Jessica, Clinton, OK; 9 grandchildren, a sister, Marie LeGrand and husband, Manuel, Elk City, OK; 2 brothers, Edward Moorhead, Weatherford, OK and Vernon Moorhead, California; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at a later date.
