Glen McCamon was born February 18, 1925 in Berlin, Oklahoma to Merle Elizabeth and Edger V. McCamon. He passed away December 5, 2010 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 17 days.

Glen grew up and attended school in the Berlin community. He moved to Groom, Texas where he worked for the railroad and then moved to Texhoma, Oklahoma where he worked on a wheat farm. Glen was married to Valeria (Craig) McCamon at Madera, California on April 25, 1946. After their marriage, they moved to the Texas panhandle and western Oklahoma before making their home in Elk City in 1951. Glen started working with his brother in the auto body repair shop before he started working for the North Texas Company picking up milk at the local dairies. In the early 70's Glen bought a piece of property and built his own body shop which he operated until his retirement in 1997. He also enjoyed painting scenery pictures, gardening, planting trees and the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Glenda White, 1 granddaughter, Melynda McCamon-Grabauskas, 3 brothers, Alonzo, Melvin and Dell Ray and 2 sisters, Eula Martin and Anna Kirk.

He is survived by his wife, Valeria, of the home; 4 children, LaVera Sorensen and husband, Kenneth, El Reno, OK, John McCamon and wife, Darlene, Elk City, OK, Craig McCamon and wife, Carolyn, Elk City, OK, Gregg McCamon and wife, Cathy, Elk City, OK; 8 grandchildren, Kendall, Gina, John Glen, Tammy, Christina, Steven, Shelly and Kelly; 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Bill McCamon, Amarillo, TX; 3 sisters, Helen Cannon, Kerwin, KS, Ruth Montgomery, Amarillo, TX and Sue Weaver, Garden City, KS numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Grandview Assembly of God Church officiated by Pastor Mark Little.

Burial will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
