Ira D. Hudgens

Ira D. Hudgens was born August 9, 1932 south of Elk City, Oklahoma to Susie Lee and Ira Douglas Hudgens. He passed away March 26, 2014 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 17 days.

I. D. graduated from Elk City High School in 1951 and attended Oklahoma State A & M College. He moved to Hobbs, New Mexico and worked for Cardinal Chemical before moving to Ponca City, Oklahoma. He began a career in counseling with the Salvation Army for the next 26 years. After his retirement in 2006 he moved to Elk City to be near his family and make his home. He loved fishing, reading history and watching sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by his 2 sisters, Jerrie Forshee and Mary Guthrie, both of Elk City, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
