Chris Hazard was born December 2, 1977 in Madison, Wisconsin. He passed away March 1, 2014 at his home in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 36 years, 2 months and 29 days.

Chris moved with his family to Elk City and attended school at Carter and Elk City. In 1987 they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated from high school in 1996. Chris continued his education at Lindenwood University, graduating with a degree in International Relations. After graduation he traveled to Japan where he taught English. After returning to the United States, he worked in Austin, Texas and Burlington, Vermont before moving back to western Oklahoma and making his home in Sayre.

Chris was currently employed with CCA at the Northfork Correctional Facility. He enjoyed studying the Chinese and Korean languages as well as reading and playing with his nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbert and Betty Cain, Jared and Alveretta Hazard.

He is survived by his parents, Eddie and Connie Plummer, Erick, OK; 1 brother, Andy Hazard, Sayre, OK; 1 sister, Amanda White and husband, Rob, Erick, OK; 2 nephews, Robert and Jack White, Erick, OK; an aunt and uncle, Candy and Jim Johnston, Temecula, California; 2 step sisters, Mandy Dillard, Elk City, OK and Misty Thompson, Elk City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held March 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Rose Chapel officiated by Jim Johnston. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
