Martin "Marty" Neal Hartpence was born October 28, 1951 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Mary Lucille and Everett Wayne Hartpence. He passed away March 31, 2016 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 3 days.

Marty grew up in the Sayre community and attended Sayre Schools. He lived with his father until Everett passed away and moved to Broadway Gardens and remained there for 40 years. He soon received the nickname of "Boss Man" by the county workers during the building of the jail. People of Sayre could often see him on Main street heading to the grocery store or the convenience store to get a chocolate milk. Marty enjoyed being around people and found employment working for Quincy Merrifield, Kenny Drake and Gerald Bibb. He enjoyed fishing, riding mowers, watching John Wayne and Chuck Norris movies, driving feed pickups and even an 18 wheeler..once.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Wayne Hartpence.

He is survived by his 1 brother, Kim Hartpence, Cheyenne, OK; a sister in law, June Hartpence, Lake Texoma, Texas; cousins, Scott Hartpence and Russ Hartpence, both of Florida and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Sayre Doxey Cemetery officiated by Winston Curtis. Burial will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
