Cleve N. Reed was born June 15, 1909 at Doxey. He died January 19, 1978 in his home at Elk City. He was 68 years of age.

Cleve married Pearl Stephens on September 13, 1928 at Doxey. The Reeds moved to the Dempsey community in early 1940, after purchasing the old Martin Place. They lived in the Dempsey Community until 1972 when they moved to Elk City.

Cleve is survived by his wife of the home; L. G. of Sweetwater; Alvie J. Reed, Elk City; Cleavie Leon Reed, Reydon; three daughters, Dora Faye Bryan, Amarillo; Joy Smith, Clinton; and Sherry Lynn Carpenter, Yukon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; one brother; and one grandchild.

Services were held Monday January 23, 1978 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. C. R. Tucker officiated. Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery, northwest of Sayre.
