Jerry Jarnagin was born August 5, 1949 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Lois and Carl Jarnagin. He passed away March 15, 2015 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Jerry grew up in the Sweetwater community and attended schools at Sweetwater and Erick. He moved with his family Floydada, Texas. In 1976, he enlisted in the United States Army in and was stationed stateside, at Ft. Sill, and also in Germany. After his discharge, Jerry moved back to Erick for a short time before moving to Frankston, Texas where he worked in a lumber saw mill and had various jobs in the east Texas area. In 2009, Jerry moved back to Erick to retire. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, caring for animals and working on cars and motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, 1 nephew, Ricky Lynn LeGrand, 1 brother-in-law, Sonny Martin.

Jerry is survived by his step-daughter, Seprena Nolan, Bullard, TX; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Alyce Floyd and husband, Charlie, Erick, OK and Jean Martin, Troup, TX; 6 nieces and nephews, Diana Crosby and husband, Ronald, Erick, OK, Mark LeGrand and wife, Cathy, Sweetwater, OK, James LeGrand and wife, Amber, Altus, OK, Debbie Vela and husband, Dusty, New Summerfield, TX, James Ray Martin and wife, Becky, Nacogdoches, TX and Jody Martin and wife, Christy, Troup, TX and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Buffalo Cemetery officiated by Brother Charlie Floyd. Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
