Burgess G. "Burge" Bramlett was born December 29, 1913 in Russellville, Arkansas to Josei Lea and John R. Bramlett and passed away August 1, 1994 in the Great Plains Regional Medical Center at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Burge moved with his parents to the New Liberty Community where he attended school.

He farmed for a few years and worked in the CC Camps before entering the United States Army and served in the 81st . He was involved in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Ardennes. After his discharge he returned to his parents farm west of Sayre and continued the farming operation.

Burge married Mozelle Anne Norrell on January 4, 1967 in Sayre, Oklahoma where they made their home.

He retired in 1978 from the State Highway Department.

He was a member of the Hext Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, one sister and one brother.

He is survived by his wife Mozelle of the home; three daughters, Jeanie Matlock, Amarillo, Texas; Sharon Hesser, Yukon, Oklahoma; and Sherry Hensley, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; three sisters, Bernice Brown, Edmond, Oklahoma; Gladys Pendarvis, Oklahoma City; and Marie Parks, Pampa, Texas; two brothers J. M. Bramlett, Borger, Texas; and Rayburn Bramlett, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 1994 at the Sayre First Baptist Church officiated by Don Adams, and assisted by Sammy Dyer.

Interment will be in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
