Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


Graveside service for John Franklin Brune, 61, who died September 13 in Los Angeles, California, were at 2:30 PM Sunday in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Neumann officiating. Arrangements were by Goodwin Funeral Home.

He was born November 26, 1926 in Cherokee and was a 1945 graduate of Lambert High School. He moved to Wichita, Kansas, in 1961 and later to California where he had lived the past 34 years. He was a machinist for Airsearch Manufacturing Company for 25 years and a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Inglewood, California.

Surviving are two brothers, Glenn and Herman, both of Cherokee; and three sisters, Mary Clem of Oklahoma City, Ruth Gaines of Broken Arrow, and Freda Mae Austin of Norman.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
