Shawnee resident Ivan Dean Hurst, 70, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at a local hospital.
He was born Jan. 21, 1940 in Cleo Springs to Harold J. Hurst and Drusilla (Loomis) Hurst. He graduated from Cleo Springs High School. He retired from Kiowash Electric as a Lineman. Ivan enjoyed going to horse sales and watching old westerns.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include four children, Gayle Shuster and husband Dale of Independence, Kan., Sheldon Hurst and wife Kay of Meeker, Crystal McNeal and husband Eddie of Fredonia, Kan., Bryon Hurst of Teague, Texas; grandchildren, Levi Shuster, Cassidy Watkins, Sandy Watkins, Joshua Hurst, Mystri Hurst, Tiffany Hurst, Carmencia Buoy, Misha Hennigh, Tabitha Mills, Tiffany Fowler, Lane Hurst, William Hurst and Ryan Hurst; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Meeker First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Burial will be at Aline Star Cemetery in Aline, Okla.
