Frances Pauline Coombes was born in Big Cabin, Oklahoma to Perry Easling and Lizzie Sumner on September 25, 1916 and passed away from this life at 101 years young on February 3, 2018.
She married Arthur Coombes and lived most of her life in Stilwell, Oklahoma. They had one adopted son, Roger Coombes, who they raised and loved very much. They were of the Baptist faith. Frances and Arthur were members of the Rock Springs Baptist Church and Calvary Southern Baptist Church.
She enjoyed reading, writing, making ceramics, painting and reading her bible. She had lived alone with her adorable cats, “Cricket and Patches” until she fell and broke her hip last April. She resided in the Stilwell Nursing Home since that time, where she continued to make new friends and kept everyone laughing with her wit and charm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and three brothers, Leonard, Quinton, and Luther; eight sisters, Lillie, Grace, Effie, Opal, Golda, Alta and one set of twins, Lavessa and Lavetta.
Frances is survived by one brother-in-law, James Coombes, three sisters-in-law, Verla Marsh, Elnora Ceinoc, and Ruby Grant, plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Roberts/Reed- Culver Chapel, Stilwell, with Bro. Joey Ketcher officiating.
Interment followed at Stilwell City
Cemetery.
